Park Rules and Regulations

Although we are still in need of a parcel of land to make this dream a reality, the rules and guidelines below will stand as our "proposed rules and regulations". Click here for a printable version.

  • All entrants to the park will be required to sign a mandatory liability waiver releasing the town of Belmont and the group known as Happy Tails Dog Park of Belmont, NH not liable for any damages to their property, self or canine.
  • We will also require a signed document that the owner’s dog(s) have no previous history of aggression.
  • A Mandatory training class (Dog Park 101) will be required to teach owners / handlers how to keep themselves and their animals safe and enjoy the park. (What signs to watch for with aggression, what to do if a fight occurs, overview of first –aid, what is expected of them as park goers (going over the rules, Questions). Course will be offered for a very nominal fee.
  •  Mandatory that all dogs are up to date on all vaccinations and up to date on their town’s dog license. 
  • Park use is strictly at your own risk.
    1. Dogs under 4 mos. of age are not allowed.
    2. Female dogs in heat are not allowed.
    3. Dogs must be spayed / neutered.
    4. No animals other than dogs are allowed in the park.
    5. Dogs must be removed from the park at the first sign of aggression
    6. No food or drink (other than water for the dogs) are allowed in the fenced in areas at any time.
    7. No children under 10 allowed. Children ages 10-15 must be accompanied by an adult (18 or over) at all times.
    8. Handlers must be at least 16 years old.
    9. Limit of 3 dogs per handler at one time.
    10. Handlers must keep their dog(s) leash with them at all times
    11. No spiked or training collars allowed in the play area.
    12. Handlers must clean up after their dog(s) and fill in any holes that have been dug .
