Volunteer Profile Form
Volunteer Coordinator
Description: Seeking a HIGHLY MOTIVATED individual to be the point person for our volunteers. Must be an extremely organized, energetic and dedicated multi-tasker who is able to assume a key leadership role with our organization. This individual is responsible for implementing and overseeing training and orientation of all volunteers.
Reports to: Board of Directors
Time Commitment Level: Approx. 5-10 hours a week +/- Will be more when park opens.
- Initial Start up tasks: Creation of volunteer handbook, working with local volunteer organizations to establish new connections and build on established connections.
- Monthly tasks: This outstanding lead volunteer will be responsible for reviewing all volunteer applications, contacting candidates, matching candidates to volunteer positions. Monthly team meeting attendance is required.
Pet Parent Community Coordinator
Description: This caring and creative person will be responsible for the outreach and building of the Happy Tails Pet Parent Community. Must have great communication and people skills. Reports to: Volunteer Coordinator
Time Commitment Level: Approx. 4-6 hours a week / could be more when park opens.
- Initial Start up tasks: Creation and implementation of programs and services. Recruitment of volunteers for various committees and program leaders.
- Monthly tasks: Overseeing the running of newly established programs and services. Monthly team meeting attendance is required.
Book Club Leader
Description: Leads Monthly book club group.
Common thread of dog / animal related books, dealing with varying genres.
Must love to read. Reports to: Pet Parent Coordinator
Time Commitment Level: Monthly approx. 2-3 hours a month (plus time to read designated book)
- Involves initial start up tasks: Finding a location for hosting monthly meeting, Talking to local booksellers / bookstores (Deal for club / volume discount)
- Monthly tasks: choosing books, reading books, sending out reminders to all book club members, updating the Facebook page with book club info and e-mailing webmaster for current info to be put on website.
Pet Parent Support Liaison
Description: Seeking a caring, compassionate and resourceful individual who will be point of contact for our parents. Providing support network for parents at all stages of their pets lives (support and condolence for loss of pet, congratulations for new additions to the family, Support for parents going through hard times (Canine Cancer support, those seeking resources for assistance with pet food, vet bills, etc).
Reports to: Pet Parent Coordinator
Time Commitment Level: Approx. 3-4 hours a month.
- Involves initial start up tasks: Working with Parent community coordinator for creation and implementation of programs and offerings.
- Monthly tasks: Support to Pet Parent Coordinator
Marketing Director
Description: This individual has a strong marketing background and is an effective communicator. Individual will be responsible for building and maintaining a positive and unified image and message. Must be creative and dedicated. Must be able to assume and function in a key leadership role. Reports to: Board of Directors: Supervises: Event Coordinator, Community Business Liaison
Time Commitment Level: Approx. 6-10 hours a month.
- Involves initial start up tasks: Building a team, creating and implementing a clear marketing strategy.
- Monthly tasks: Supervision of team, Reporting to the board on happenings and progress. Maintenance of Social Media, Website, E-Newsletter and Magazine. Monthly team meeting attendance is required.
Community Business Liaison
Description: This is a perfect opportunity for an individual who loves meeting new people. We are looking for a true people person who will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with local businesses. Reports to: Marketing Director Supervises: Any Volunteer staff
Time Commitment Level: Approx. 3-5 hours a week / weekend
- Initial Start up tasks: Becoming involved with local networking groups, business associations.
- Regular tasks: Routine visits to our network of current local businesses to nurture networking relationships/ constantly building new business relationships.
Event Coordinator
Description: This individual will lead the event staff team to represent Happy Tails at local events. This person will be responsible for organizing all aspects of attendance (Confirming event volunteers for, working with staff of venue, working with marketing coordinator person on raffles and promotions). Reports to: Marketing Director- Supervises: Event support staff
Time Commitment Level: Weekends are a must for events.
- Initial Start up tasks: Attending and researching new venues for PR and fundraising.
- Regular tasks: Event planning duties.
Fundraising Coordinator
Description: Seeking a HIGHLY MOTIVATED individual. Must be extremely organized, energetic and dedicated. A multi-tasker who able to assume a key leadership role and responsibilities. Must be comfortable with networking and working with the public and local business community.
Reports to: Board of Directors
Supervises: Fundraising Committee
Time Commitment Level: Monthly approx. 10 hours a week +/-
- Initial Start up tasks: Engage current donor base, grow donor base. Work closely with marketing coordinator and other key volunteers.
- Monthly tasks: This outstanding lead volunteer will be responsible for reviewing all volunteer applications, contacting candidates, matching candidates to volunteer positions. Monthly Team Meeting attendance is required.
